Summary
Ribbons of the Sun
In my village we grow flowers. When their buds start to open and they are the most beautiful, we take them to Santa Maria del Sol and sell them in the marketplace. But on one terrible day, 12-year-old Rosa herself is taken to the city to be sold by her father as a maid to a heartless family. Pregnant by her employer, Rosa is thrown into the streets to make her own way. Hopeless and in despair, Rosa ultimately finds the strength in her true self to survive and being to live again in this realistic, deeply spiritual story.
